In keeping with the annual tradition of the Peter Mac Cup breakfast, head coaches Mick Malthouse and Brett Ratten joined Scott Pendlebury, Chris Judd and Tony Shaw in a question and answer session conducted by Brian Taylor on stage in front of the strong attendance.
The breakfast was held at Zinc Restaurant on the banks of the Yarra River with the event aimed to raise funds for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute.

Below are the best excerpts from Wednesday’s breakfast.
Brian Taylor: Are you a touch dirty on the sub rule?
Mick Malthouse: No, I am not. But it is so hard to sell to a player, ‘Guess what you are doing today?’, ‘You got that red guernsey on and I don’t know when you are going to come on the ground.’
Bring your scarf to the MCG on Friday night. Be there by 7.00pm.
BT: Scotty, how are you going with the modern technology? Are you on Twitter and Facebook?
Scott Pendlebury: Yeah I am. I have followed Mick’s lead. He was on Twitter before me.
BT: No Mick, surely someone does your tweets Mick?
MM: My girls do. I give them the idea. I don’t know really how to break in there. I have two beautiful daughters and they handle it for me.
BT: Why do you do it Scotty?
SP: It’s a way to give back to the fans and give them an insight into what we do away from the football club.
BT: Do you ever worry that you give away information that you perhaps shouldn’t?
SP: We probably don’t say stuff that would get us in trouble. We are pretty smart.
(laughter)
BT: No you are. The hair is obviously an indication.
BT: Shawy, who else do you like watching besides the Pies and Blues?
Tony Shaw: Well Brian, I have to say first up that I have no idea what I am doing here. For a great cause yes, but I am filling in for Eddie McGuire and you can never fill in for Eddie McGuire, just ask Eddie. I am sitting next to a bloke that has taken my mantle as the last Norm Smith medallist in a premiership side with Scotty, but he thoroughly deserves that. Nick Maxwell has taken the captaincy. Mick took my job as coach, and worse than that he has now taken my King of Moomba! I am gone!
BT: If you are going to be Eddie for a day just talk about yourself on air, talk about yourself off air and when you are not talking about yourself, just ask us what we think of you.
