THE AFL has confirmed the final match venue for Round 23 of the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
St Kilda vs. Fremantle will take place at 12:15pm EST on Sunday, August 22 at Blundstone Arena in Hobart.
AFL Executive General Manager Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said it was great to lock in Sunday’s match, the 198th fixtured game of the season.
"Round 23 shapes up to be a fitting conclusion to a compelling and competitive season of football," Mr Auld said.
"As various governments and communities continue to manage the challenges of the pandemic, it is great to once again to play a game in front of crowds in Hobart.
"The home and away season has been a challenge for all, I would like to thank our fixturing team, led by Marcus King, the 18 clubs, players and the AFLPA, coaches, umpires, officials, broadcasters, venues, corporate partners, and all state and territory governments, who have all once again worked with us to navigate the challenges that have been thrown up, and in doing so supported the continuity of matches for the fans, each and every week.
"With nine great matchups, the weekend of matches is a great way to lead into Week One of the 2021 Toyota AFL Finals Series."
