BACKS
Heath Shaw (Collingwood) – Had 28 disposals and an equal game-high seven rebounds against Adelaide. His marking was also a highlight, with three of 11 grabs contested.
Darren Glass (West Coast) – Produced one of his best matches for the season. The skipper held the backline together and kept a cool head when the Dogs made a late charge.
Dustin Fletcher (Essendon) – Kept Lion Daniel Bradshaw to just two goals, although one drew the game after the siren. Fletcher was Essendon's best with 21 touches and a game-high eight rebounds.
HALF BACKS
Greg Broughton (Fremantle) – One of the stories of the season and one of the 'Dream Team' bargains of 2009 with a career-best 37 disposals against Port Adelaide. He also took 11 marks and used the ball with excellent efficiency.
Bret Thornton (Carlton) – Pushed for best-on-ground honours against the Cats, Thornton collected 30 disposals and had the better of Tom Hawkins. Not only provided great run out of defence, but was a rock when required.
Shannon Hurn (West Coast) – Gained a career-best 31 disposals and had game highs in effective kicks (19) and rebounds (10). He also took 10 marks.
CENTRES
Andrew Embley (West Coast) – Played his best match since winning the 2006 Norm Smith Medal, with 32 disposals and four goals in a best-on-ground performance.
Alan Didak (Collingwood) – Best-on-ground with 31 disposals, including a game-high 20 effective kicks. Didak also took 13 marks and booted two goals, including a gem from the pocket.
Kade Simpson (Carlton) – Played one of his best matches for the season, winning 24 disposals and booting three goals. He also had three scoring assists and six inside 50s.
HALF-FORWARDS
Chris Mayne (Fremantle) – In just his second match back, due to a shin stress fracture interrupting his season, Mayne kicked four goals, including three in the second term.
Adam Goodes (Sydney Swans) – The dual Brownlow Medallist will surely add to his vote tally from this match, after a best-on-ground effort against Richmond. Goodes booted 4.3, took 12 marks and had 25 touches, including 15 contested possessions.
Adam Schneider (St Kilda) – Played one of his best matches since leaving the Swans, kicking three goals and laying 10 tackles in a best-on-ground display against Hawthorn.
FORWARDS
Stephen Milne (St Kilda) – Was a key contributor with three goals from seven scoring shots.
Brendan Fevola (Carlton) – Booted four goals from 10 scoring shots. His marking was again a highlight – three of 11 grabs were contested.
Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne) – Was best-on-ground with five goals and 25 hit-outs against Melbourne, just his 13th AFL match.
FOLLOWERS
Mitch Clark (Brisbane Lions) – Collected 28 disposals, took 11 marks and had 31 hit-outs, having the better of Paddy Ryder.
Chris Judd (Carlton) – Won 27 disposals and six inside 50s – a top effort on one of the game's best ball-winning run-with midfielders Cameron Ling.
Dane Swan (Collingwood) – Collected 30 disposals and had seven rebounds and is still far and away the leading possession winner in the competition with 623 touches.
INTERCHANGE
Josh Kennedy (West Coast) – Played one of his best games yet, booting four goals and playing a major role in his side's memorable win. Kennedy had the better of Bulldog opponent Tom Williams, also taking nine marks, including three contested grabs.
Stephen Hill (Fremantle) – Collected 22 disposals in his best game from 19 appearances this season.
David Armitage (St Kilda) – After being named emergency eight times this season, the No.9 pick in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft played his first match this year and it was a beauty. Armitage racked up a career-best 22 touches and laid 10 tackles.
Cameron Wood (Collingwood) – Gained the edge in the ruck with a personal-high 24 disposals and 19 hit-outs. He also chipped in with two goals in the absence of No.1 ruckman Josh Fraser.
