Dream Team coaches looking to bolster their team’s forward line in the coming weeks should look no further than Lions Captain Jonathan Brown.

After an eight-week lay-off with severe facial injuries, Brown made an immediate impact upon his return against North Melbourne last Saturday night.

The difficult conditions at the Gabba didn’t seem to faze the three-time Club Champion who had 13 disposals, took 11 marks (five contested) and booted four goals to earn himself 93 Dream Team points.

Brown’s Dream Team value remains at the modest price of $361,000 - but his value is set to drop significantly next week due to his score of just 55 in Round 1 against the Fremantle. His Round 1 total was obviously hindered by the fact he was injured just after half-time.

He presents a tantalising Dream Team prospect for the second half of the season as he regains match fitness.

Brown was the Lions’ third highest scorer for Round 9, behind 2011 Dream Team stars Jack Redden (119 points) and Jed Adcock (118 points).

Redden’s team-high total (which included 12 tackles) has helped the young South Australian reclaim the overall lead at the Club.

He replaces Tom Rockliff who dropped to second place after being substituted midway through the match with a leg injury.

Meanwhile, Adcock continued his impressive 2011 campaign and looks set to be Redden’s main challenger for Dream Team supremacy should Rockliff’s injury be serious enough to force him out of games.

There wasn’t much movement among the 10 Lions players who are participating in the AFL Dream Team competition, with Joel Patfull (Patfull’s Posse) and Daniel Rich (Richy’s Rockets) moving further ahead of their team-mates.

Both teams are currently ranked inside the top 200 of the Lions’ public league with Patfull edging closer each week towards the top 100.

The only change saw Ash McGrath (Boonj’s Bandits) overtake Mitch Clark (Clarky’s Kings) to sit just one position ahead of him in the overall rankings.

The ‘Spaceballs’ team, coached by Adam, has reclaimed the overall lead from ‘albertproudftw’ who remains in second place. With the exception of the swap between the first and second placed teams, the rest of the top five stayed the same and are within reach of the ultimate Lions Dream Team prize.

Congratulations also to ‘The Great Whites’ - coached by Christopher - whose Round 9 score of 2,448 was the highest among all registered teams in the Lions’ Group.
