The Blues continue to talk to the Brisbane Lions about Sam Docherty, who wants to be traded to the club.
And the experienced Geelong forward duo remains on their radar although talks are in the early stages.
"He's an interesting one, the Pod - a key forward who's probably got another year or two left," football manager Andrew McKay told SEN on Wednesday morning.
"He's left Geelong because they're trying to freshen up their list and give a bit more game time to the younger boys.
"He may suit us on a very short-term basis, but again, it's very early stages there so we can't get too enthused at this stage."

As for Chapman, the Blues are still considering throwing him a lifeline.
"I think he's probably got a little bit of footy left in him; he brings that aggressive touch to the game," McKay said.
"We'd be mad not to look at him, but certainly we're a long way off at this stage."
AFL.com.au believes the Blues are also keen on former Western Bulldogs' midfielder Daniel Cross, who was coached by Mick Malthouse in the 2010 tour of Ireland for the International Rules series.
They've spoken to Shane Savage, who wants to pursue opportunities outside of Hawthorn, and may consider on-trading the second round draft selection they received for Shaun Hampson on Monday.
"We've spoken to Shane and he's sounds reasonably keen to have opportunities at other clubs," McKay said.
"We'll be pursuing him and just see how it pans out.
"You've got to keep in mind that we're restrained by salary cap and we want three or four picks in the draft, so we've just got to be aware that we need a bit of room on our list as well."
Kane Lucas, Josh Bootsma and Levi Casboult have been reported to be on the trade table by the Blues, which McKay didn't deny.
"It's a difficult one really. A lot of people are potentially moveable; it depends what the other clubs are after," he said.
"That's what it boils down to.
"There are a number of people on our list that are untouchables but there are some others we're prepared to talk about.
"We value all our players and we want something pretty good for them.
"That's where it sits at the moment."
The Blues are still waiting to hear if Collingwood will match their offer put to Dale Thomas.
The Pies have another 48 hours to decide what to do with the restricted free agent.
