THE FIRST time Irving Mosquito stepped onto the hallowed turf of the MCG was during this year's Dreamtime at the 'G War Cry pre-game ceremony.
Mosquito, a childhood Essendon supporter, is now imagining the possibility of donning the red and black in next season's blockbuster after the Bombers secured the Gippsland Power small forward with pick No.38 at the NAB AFL Draft on Friday.

Essendon is set to feature in an array of prime time games next season, including Good Friday against North Melbourne and Anzac Day against Collingwood, but Mosquito, a proud indigenous man, has his eyes set on the Bombers' annual Dreamtime clash against Richmond.
"I'm looking forward to the Dreamtime clash the most," Mosquito told AFL.com.au after he was drafted.
"I danced on the ground as part of the Richmond indigenous camp this year, it was my first time on the 'G.
"I was pretty nervous when I stepped onto the ground, all eyes were on me."

A member of Hawthorn's Next Generation Academy, Mosquito expected to be drafted to Waverley after the Hawks nominated him ahead of the Draft.
But when the Hawks decided against matching Essendon's bid for the speedy forward, Mosquito was a Bomber.
The pleasure in Essendon's corner was palpable, amplified by a fist pump from list manager Adrian Dodoro, who did not conceal his excitement.

"It was a pretty nerve-wracking wait, but I'm very excited (to be drafted). I'm a Bombers fan," Mosquito said.
"My family goes for Essendon. I've supported them since I was like four or five years old.
"I just spoke to (my parents after I got drafted), they were very proud.
"My dad used to talk about Longy (Michael Long) and how committed to footy he was, all while representing indigenous people."
Another significant figure in Mosquito's football progression has been former AFL player and Gippsland Power coach Leigh Brown.
"Leigh has been a big influence, trying to help me with stuff away from footy," Mosquito said.
"He's given me advice and helped me set goals, such as my tackling pressure."
HOW DID THE GURU GO? Callum Twomey's late mail
Brown, who has helped Mosquito finding the right work-life balance, couldn't contain his pride.
"We're really proud of 'Irv' and what he's done in our program (at Gippsland Power)," Brown told AFL.com.au.
"It creates a fantastic story, him coming across from Halls Creek.
"He's an exciting player; mainly playing as a small forward, with some increased time through the middle.
"(His strengths are his) clean hands and goal sense, I think Essendon has an exciting player on its hands."
Equipped with an exciting turn of speed and an excellent goal sense, Mosquito was an absentee from this year's NAB AFL Under-18 Championships due to injury but finished the year with Gippsland Power and can be a match-winner.
Mosquito spent Friday touring the Essendon facilities, meeting Bombers captain Dyson Heppell and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti in the process.
"Tippa is my idol," Mosquito said.
"(I love) the way he goes about his footy; lots of pressure [and] kicking goals."
Similarly, Mosquito noted his favourite three aspects of his playing style, "Pressure. Kicking goals. Run-down tackles," he said.
But Mosquito, noticeably in awe after being drafted by his favourite club, didn't shy away from his goals.
Short-term?
"I hope to play round one," Mosquito said.
Long-term?
"A flag."
