GEELONG defender Taylor Hunt says the Cats are aiming to boot a big score when they take on Fremantle at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night.

Hunt was among Geelong's best players in its round one win over St Kilda, gathering 17 possessions across half-back.

But while the Cats kicked only six goals against the Saints, he knows they can't afford to record such a low tally when they meet the Dockers.

"We want to move the ball really fast, get a good score on the board and come away with two wins in a row," Hunt said.

"The big ground over in Perth should suit us and I think we can easily adapt.

"It's just going to be a bit harder to defend, but I guess there's more space out there for us to use our trademark Geelong attacking style."

Recruited in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft, Hunt was playing in only his eighth game last weekend.

However, he showed the poise and assuredness of a veteran.

"Andrew Mackie, Tom Lonergan and Matthew Scarlett really make things easy for me," the 20-year-old explained.

"That gives me extra confidence to play my role and help the team win the game."

The one-point victory over St Kilda, in what was new coach Chris Scott's first home and away game in charge, was certainly one of the highlights of Hunt's short career.

"It was a great win," he said. "It was good to get a win for Corey Enright's 200th game and Cameron Guthrie's first.

"It was great to get a win for 'Scotty' as well. We'd been looking forward to the game for a long time and it was a big focus for us.

"We needed to win it because we've got a tough draw in the next couple of weeks."

Although the new interchange rules have sparked much discussion throughout the football community, Hunt is positive about the change.

"I guess seeing Joel Selwood getting knocked out was a worry for the boys, and it was a really bad way to start the season for him," he said.

"But I guess we were lucky enough that, with the rules these days, we weren't a man down for the whole game. That definitely helped us.

"Most of the boys ran the game out pretty well and that showed on the scoreboard."
