ST KILDA captain Nick Riewoldt says it's business as usual as his side prepares for its grand final rematch against Collingwood.
Saturday's 68-point draw will see the teams return next week, though extra time will be played if there's another deadlock.
Riewoldt said it was very strange to reconsider a decider against the Pies.
"It's bizarre, to be honest - it's a very unique situation," he said in the rooms after the game.
"None of us really have the manual on what to do in this situation, so pretty much now we just get back to our preparation.
"We've got a week now to prepare for another game of footy, and to make sure we tick all the right boxes and learn from this one.
"Every game of footy is a mental challenge. It's a mental challenge to get up the first time, and it's going to be a mental challenge next week as well.
"The message from (coach) Ross (Lyon) was just focus on your preparation, and give yourself every opportunity."
Although the Pies were wasteful in the second half, Riewoldt was pleased with his teammates' ability to address their 24-point deficit at the main break.
"We really just willed ourselves into the contest in the second half, but clearly there are things to learn from the first half," he said.
"We didn't string four quarters together so that's what we'll be aiming to do next week.
"We're never out of the contest, no matter what the situation, and that's a trait that we've built up over a few years.
"We never give up, and we didn't give up today."
