The Australian Football League wishes to advise it has today begun the process of examining all records from the Adelaide Crows Football Club that may be relevant to its investigation under the AFL Player Rules into the contracting of player Kurt Tippett in 2009, to cover the 2010 – 2012 AFL seasons.
The AFL has no timeline to complete its investigation.
During the trade period, the AFL advised Adelaide Crows FC and Tippett that any trade entered into in furtherance of the agreement under investigation would not be accepted.
Separately, as per the key dates timeline that has already been publicly advised to the clubs and media, the normal operation of the competition’s Draft process will continue through November / December.
Pending the ongoing investigation that is now in place and subject to approval of the AFL, these rules will apply to player Tippett.
The AFL has no further update to provide at this time.
