LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions suffered their biggest ever home defeat at the hands of reigning premiers Geelong.

The Cats dominated from the outset, booting six goals to the Lions' one in the opening quarter before running away with an 81-point victory.

Justin Sherman and Jonathan Brown each kicked three goals for the Lions while young midfielder James Polkinghorne was the team's leading possession-winner with 29 disposals.

Steve Johnson led Geelong up forward with six majors while All-Australian midfielders Paul Chapman, Jimmy Bartel, Joel Selwood and Gary Ablett were all prominent.
