PORT Adelaide star Robbie Gray will undergo knee surgery, but is expected to be ready for the start of pre-season training in November.
The three-time All Australian and triple club champion will have an operation on his right knee – the same knee in which he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in 2012 in the round four loss to Collingwood.
"Robbie will have a clean-out of his right knee this week," the Power's head of high performance Ian McKeown said on Wednesday.
"It is expected Robbie's surgery is unlikely to have a significant impact on his off-season program and will be able to resume pre-season training with the rest of the team in November."

The 30-year-old had another impressive season playing as a small forward and in the midfield, averaging 20.9 disposals in his 21 games while also kicking 36 goals for the season.
He was named in the 40-man Virgin Australia AFL All Australian squad on Monday after making the final team in in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Gray is on track to play his 200th game for the Power in the opening round of the 2019 season.
Midfielder Karl Amon has had surgery to correct a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee, while defender Riley Bonner has had minor surgery to remove a bone spur on his left foot.
Both players are expected to return to running in time for pre-season training in November.
Recruits Tom Rockliff and Jack Watts have also undergone the knife.
Rockliff has had a successful shoulder reconstruction on his left shoulder, and will return to full-contact training early next year.
Watts had a minor clean-up of his right ankle that is not expected to impact his off-season.
First-year defender Joel Garner (shoulder), forward Todd Marshall (foot), midfielder Willem Drew (heel) and defenders Matthew Broadbent (foot) and Tom Clurey (foot) are expected to join pre-season training in November.
