Whilst the Club’s brand has initially been established from the deeds of its teams and players, today that is matched by the Club’s broader commitment to the community, with the Club widely recognised for the way it strengthens communities through sport. Today the Club conducts a number of well established and successful community programs that help deliver local and broader community outcomes.
The Club is now seeking a Multicultural Development Officer to join our committed and enthusiastic Community team.
Reporting to the Community Manager, the position has as its primary responsibility the planning and implementation of community programs and activities, with a particular emphasis on engaging with people who are new to Australia and the game of Australian Football. A key element of the role will include the delivery of various school / junior focused programs, including the multicultural schools program and other activities of the Club.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of football or sport development programs
- Proven experience working with young people and managing volunteers
- Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience in working with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
- Strong initiative and self motivated
- Open minded and a real willingness to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Working with Children check
