The sun was shining at Carlton as the players prepared for training on Wednesday morning. Not just the sun in the sky but the Sunny Day mascot who visited Carlton as part of the promotion for Sunny Day being held this Friday at Federation Square. Activities will continue throughout the day at Federation Square on Friday, between 10am and 7pm with Nick Stevens being joined by some of his team-mates during the morning for some special football skill activities.

Nick Stevens is an ambassador for Interchange and has been involved with the organisation for a number of years acting as a volunteer and caring for a young disabled boy on a regular basis as part of the program. Nick was on hand at Carlton’s training session this morning to introduce the team to the Sunny Day mascot and two of the boys who are involved in the Interchange program.

Through Nick’s involvement the Carlton Football Club has become involved with Interchange and Sunny Day and is pleased to support this community based program.

Sunny Day in Winter is the initiative of Interchange, a not for profit community based organisation that provides respite and recreational opportunities for young people with a disability and their families. With the help of volunteers Interchange provides services aimed at giving families and carers a break from their everyday caring role and offers people with disabilities opportunities to broaden their social networks.
