FREMANTLE pair Ryan Crowley and Garrick Ibbotson will return to action against North Melbourne on Sunday after serving a one-match club-imposed suspension for arriving late to training.

The midfielders were dropped for Fremantle's 47-point win over Melbourne in the opening round of the NAB Cup and coach Mark Harvey said the club would continue to take a hard line on disciplinary breaches.

"They were late to training and they were disciplined," Harvey said from Fremantle Oval on Wednesday. "It does not matter how late they were.

"It gives us a good opportunity to have a look at that side of our game and what you can and can't do. We've moved on from it anyway. They understand fully and they copped it sweet."

Crowley, Fremantle's No.1 tagger, hasn't played since round six last season, with a complicated torn ligament injury in his right foot ending his year.

Harvey said the 25-year-old had a good fitness base and would be given the opportunity to "redeem himself" against the Roos at Etihad Stadium.

Crowley and Ibbotson will come into the side for Byron Schammer and Adam McPhee, who both sustained minor ankle injuries in the win over Melbourne.

Full-back Chris Tarrant missed that game with a minor back complaint, but should now be available.

Second-year player Nick Suban is also in line for his first game for 2010, while Harvey is keen to see draftee Nat Fyfe in action.

Fremantle plays at Etihad Stadium six times during the home and away season, and Harvey said Sunday's fixture was a good opportunity to introduce young players to the unique ground.

He added that Fremantle had been training on smaller grounds for the past two months to help it better prepare for Etihad Stadium, where it hasn't won since round 17, 2006.

"Particularly for guys that haven't played there, it's a big opportunity to see how they go," he said.

"We've been working on different training methods for that ground."

A big focus of Fremantle's pre-season has been contested ball and tackling pressure and Harvey said he was pleased with the players' effort in those two areas against Melbourne.

"Having said that the Kangaroos were very good against Geelong as well," he said.

"It's been another area of focus for us, and now we get an opportunity to see how it is on the smaller grounds against a good tackling side."
