Fremantle launched its 2007 season last night with more than 550 people attending a gala dinner at the Burswood Grand Ballroom.

Respected football commentator Tim Lane was MC, and dual Kangaroos premiership captain Wayne Carey was a special guest speaker.

The club’s corporate guests and sponsors were given a great insight into what’s ahead in the coming year, while the Fremantle players mingled and dined with them to discuss the pre-season and the excitement of the year ahead.

Carey reminisced about his highly-successful playing days at Arden Street, and offered his thoughts on the 2007 season, stating that he believed Fremantle was the team to look out for this year.

New recruits Dean Solomon and Chris Tarrant were put under the spotlight by Lane in an ‘on the couch’ chat, as well as new Vice Captain Josh Carr and Paul Hasleby.

Lane then shared the couch with Chief Executive Officer Cameron Schwab, Senior Coach Chris Connolly, and Carey to chat about the upcoming season in an entertaining session.

The club’s new membership campaign was also launched last night, with a new television advertisement featuring a frantic hunt by a Fremantle member for his “lucky purple undies” as he gets ready to set off to the game.

It is clear that for this member he simply cannot go to the footy without them. It is an important, even critical part of his match day routine…..it is his superstition! He believes the team simply needs him to wear his lucky undies to help them win the game.

A sneak peek of the ad will be available shortly on FTV. And if you don’t have a pair of lucky undies for yourself, don’t despair! You can purchase your own special pair of purple undies soon from the Fremantle Team Store.
