When there's snow around, no one is safe...not even the senior coach.

A spontaneous snowball fight broke out on top of Bald Mountain in Utah and it was every man for himself.

But things took a nasty turn when North coach Brad Scott, who was nothing more than an innocent bystander, took a savage hit to the upper body with a neatly moulded snowball when his back was turned.

With dozens of little white missiles flying through the air and several suspects under the microscope, the blame game has now begun as to which player was responsible for the cowardly act.

"It definitely wasn't me, I'm not that stupid," Andrew Swallow proclaimed.

"It was 'Hero' McKinley...he threw it and then yelled out 'oh Spitter' to make it look like I had thrown it."

However Swallow has a questionable track record. Just a day ago he proudly tweeted on his Twitter account: 'Hit our head fitness guy with a snowball today. I think I maybe regretting that tomorrow after our hills session...'.

"Yeah, I hit Pete Mulkearns in the head the other day I'll admit that...but the Brad Scott hit wasn't me."

Daniel Pratt laughs at Swallow's denial saying he saw it all unfold.

"Spitter threw it, I was watching...it was definitely him," Pratt recalled.

"He threw it and then called out his own name and pretended that 'Hero' McKinley called out his name to make it look like him...it was a professional hit and some sort of double bluff technique."

Robbie Tarrant though has a completely different version of events.

"It was Pratty. He was no doubt aiming for someone else and it hit Brad because he is such a bad throw. It couldn't have been me because my maximum throwing distance is about ten metres due to all of the shoulder surgery I've had...I couldn't hit the side of a barn.

"Then again, it could have been 'Hero' McKinley who is new to the team and doesn't know that you can't just throw stuff at the coach."

For Hamish McIntosh, Ayden Kennedy is the prime suspect.

"Ayden was the first to throw a snowball and I saw him fire off a few in Brad's direction. As for me...I was too far away from the scene and didn't even know what had happened until after."

For the man at the centre of the controversy, Brad Scott, there was one simple message.

"I'll find out who it was, that's for sure. By the end of the camp I will have my man so Andrew, Ayden, Daniel, Robbie, Hamish and Ben better sleep with one eye open from here on in."
