Darren Crocker is a former premiership player with North Melbourne. Born on March 26, 1967, the defender carved out a successful career which spanned 14 seasons.

Crocker was an integral part of North’s third premiership win in 1996 and retired two years later in 1998.

After his retirement, Crocker player coached VFL side Port Melbourne in 1999 and was an assistant coach at Richmond from 2000-04. He returned to Arden St at the end of 2004, and was responsible for the backline and the team's defensive pressure.

When Dean Laidley stepped down as head coach of North mid-way through the 2009 season, Crocker was elevated into the position and took over for the remaining ten weeks of the year.

Perhaps his proudest moment as head coach came in round 21 of the home and away season when his young Kangaroos delivered a stunning upset over the top of the table Saints.
