The Swans kicked 22 goals at the SCG to demolish the Hawks last Sunday but just as importantly there were plenty of goals kicked off the field for the Heart Foundation.

Tadhg Kennelly and Jared Crouch’s fundraising campaign, ‘Tadhg’s All Heart’, managed to raise more than $9,100 through supporters and fans generously donating at SCG entry points on the day.

Many would know by now that the two players have decided to compete in this year’s New York Marathon so the Round 22 game was dedicated to raising funds for ‘Tadhg’s All Heart’, with many volunteers stationed around the ground collecting for the cause.

With Tadhg Kennelly injured and unable to play he took to rattling the buckets with teammates Barry Hall, Stephen Doyle, Peter Faulks and Australian Idol winner Damien Leith who chimed in to support his Irish mate.

It was much to the delight of the SCG patrons who got to see the players up close and personal and also to have a chat with the much loved Leith. While happy to make a donation many took the opportunity to grab an autograph and a photo with the troupe.

Kennelly spoke passionately about his cause to those in function rooms around the ground prior to the game and he was also interviewed on the big-screen during the half-time break.

Both Tadhg and Jared were overwhelmed by the support on the day; “We sincerely thank everyone who donated to the cause and especially appreciate the efforts of the volunteers,” Tadhg said.

“We not only have the good news from our game day efforts but we are very excited and sincerely thankful to QBE who have jumped onboard putting $10,000 towards our collective fundraising,” Crouch added.
