POTENTIAL MILESTONES
If cleared, ruckman Mitch Clark will play his 50th AFL match this Saturday night when the Lions face the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba.

Clark was recruited to the Lions from East Fremantle with Pick No.9 in the 2005 AFL National Draft.

He played a total of just 22 matches in his first three seasons at the Club after battling various injuries before breaking through to play every match last season - including two AFL Finals.

Clark finished third in the Lions' 2009 Club Champion award behind Jonathan Brown and Simon Black and only narrowly missed out on All-Australian selection after making the preliminary squad last season.

LAST TIME THEY MET
The Lions took on the Western Bulldogs on a blustery Friday night at the MCG with a Preliminary Final berth at stake.

The Bulldogs took control early with four unanswered goals, while the Lions struggled to adapt to the windy conditions in front of goal - kicking just six behinds in the opening quarter.

After half-time, the Dogs piled on seven of the next nine goals to lead by 50 points early in the final quarter.

The Lions exchanged majors with the home side in the final minutes but eventually fell by 51 points.

The loss brought the Lions' 2009 campaign to a close and also signalled the end of dual premiership player Tim Notting's 13-year playing career.
