PORT ADELAIDE veteran Chad Cornes is the only player facing suspension following the AFL match review panel’s assessment of round 14 matches.

Cornes has been charged with making forceful front-on contact with Fremantle’s Ryan Crowley during his team’s loss at Subiaco on Saturday afternoon.

The defender’s previous poor record means he cannot reduce a one-match ban with an early plea, and he must fight his charge at the AFL Tribunal should he wish to take on Collingwood at AAMI Stadium on Friday night.

Three other players - Essendon’s Cale Hooker, Sydney Swan Lewis Roberts-Thomson and Demon Kyle Cheney - have all been cited on striking charges, while West Coast's Adam Selwood has been nabbed on video for tripping.

However, that quartet can all accept a reprimand and avoid suspensions with early guilty pleas.

The match review panel also assessed a raft of incidents from weekend matches, including one between Western Bulldogs' defender Brian Lake and Hawthorn forward Lance Franklin.

Lake felled the Hawthorn spearhead after he kicked a long goal in the final term, but the match review panel found there was insufficient force in the contact to constitute a report.

Port Adelaide’s Daniel Motlop was also scrutinised for two separate incidents, but found to have no case to answer for either.
