Ashley Hansen, host of the club’s new television program, Eagle Vision, turns his hand to his off-field area of expertise when he provides an insight into the advantages West Coast enjoys with early season matches in Perth.

Hansen, who is studying sports science at ECU Joondalup, takes to the treadmill in controlled conditions which are gradually raised to the common summer Perth temperature of 40 degrees to provide a sample for analysis on the effects of training and playing in extreme heat.

East coast clubs often complain of the drain of playing early season matches in  the extreme WA heat, but is there really an advantage? Tune in at 2.30pm on Sunday to Channel 7 to get the answers to that question and many more.

That is just one of the interesting segments on episode four of Eagle Vision which will lead-up into  the Carlton Mid Derby blockbuster against Fremantle from Patersons Stadium. The show will also go to air in regional centres courtesy of GWN.

Hansen has been combining football with his sports science interests and will take viewers behind the scenes in the ECU sports science laboratories during the course of the season to demonstrate how data is collected and assessed as the club strives for a competitive advantage.

Aside from the treadmill test in extreme conditions, the show will also take you into the home of half-forward Mark Nicoski as he reveals his musical pedigree in a jam session with a couple of young teammates.

Skipper Darren Glass provides some interesting views on some of his teammates, a handful of  players disclose their fondest Carlton Mid Derby moments, Rowan Jones talks about his family and life after football and the club's boxing coach Pat Devellerez explains the benefits for young players of his early morning sparring sessions.

Great prizes are on offer courtesy of SGIO - and the sgioeagleszone.com.au website - and take a look at a player visit to one of the many metropolitan Hungry Jack’s stores.

Eagle Vision has attracted big audiences to this point and returns with a bumper show after a three-week  hiatus as 7 was committed to V8 Supercar programming.
