North Melbourne captain Adam Simpson has urged all Roos fans to turn up to the MCG on Saturday.

The Round 4 clash with Melbourne was originally to be played on the Gold Coast, but was returned to the MCG once North Melbourne made the decision to reject an offer to relocate to south-east Queensland.

“Given this is the game that has come back to Melbourne from the Gold Coast it’s important our fans vindicate the decision of bringing the game back by turning up,” Simpson said.

“If our fans want us to get more prime-time and traditional fixtures in years to come we need all of them getting to the games.”

Simpson paid tribute to the supporters who have joined the club.

“Our fans have made a massive difference by buying memberships and pushing us past 31,000 members which is a phenomenal effort,” he said.

“However our fans also need to realise they can make a huge difference by attending North games ensuring we maximise crowds at our matches.”

This week’s game begins at 2.10pm with gates opening at 12pm.
