FANS have voted for Hawthorn young gun Cyril Rioli’s goal against Richmond as the goal of the week, and also adjudged Geelong’s Harry Taylor as the mark of the week, meaning that both are now nominated for the Toyota AFL Goal and Mark of the Year respectively.
Both weekly winners' nominated grassroots football club’s are in the running to win $5000 courtesy of Toyota.
In 2008, the winners of the Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year awards will each receive;
- The use of a TRD Aurion for 12 months, presented by Toyota
- $5000 for their grassroots club, presented by Toyota
- A crystal replica of the official perpetual Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year trophies
- The Alex Jesaulenko Medal (mark) and Phil Manassa Medal (goal)
At the end of the 22 round Toyota AFL Premiership Season, the AFL All-Australian Selection Committee will decide the overall winners' from the pool of weekly nominations in each category.
The nomination for the round seven, Toyota AFL Mark of the Year are Daniel Motlop (Port Adelaide), Jeff Farmer (Fremantle) and Matthew Richardson (Richmond).
Motlop is also nominated for the round seven Toyota AFL Goal of the Year alongside Aaron Davey (Melbourne) and Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle).
