BRETT KIRK says while the Swans players fully support the Field of Womenevent, the side is firmly focussed on the task at hand on Saturday night againstthe Saints.

“It is important and if you look at the ladder the competitionis so even,” he said today.

The Swans sit in seventh spot on 40 points while the Saints are justoutside the eight in ninth just two points off Sydney. This makes it a crucialgame for the Swans top eight and even top-four aspirations.

“We're in good form at the moment and we're looking forwardto this next block of games to see where we're at,” said Kirk.

Asked whether the emotion of the pre-match activities would take awaysome of the focus of team, Kirk believed the Swans were professional enough notto let that happen.

“Everyone's got their own pre-match routines. It's hard toknow, but we've spoken about it and come Saturday night it will come down toplaying St Kilda at that point in time.”

Lyn Swinburne from Breast Cancer Network Australia, which is putting onthe Field of Women event, pointed out that the last time it occurred – at theMCG in 2005 – the home team - the Demons - easily beat the visiting Crows.

“That's a good omen,” added Kirk.
