THE SWANS’ successful era might not yet be over, but Saturday’s loss may have marked the beginning of the end, coach Paul Roos has conceded.

The club has a fortnight to prepare for its sixth consecutive finals campaign, with its spot in the eight stitched up.

But the 45-point defeat to Collingwood was the Swans’ sixth straight loss to the Pies and their sixth in eight matches.

"There certainly are some signs, and I guess that's to be expected if you play in the finals series six years in a row,” Roos said on Monday.

"But I think you've got to give credit to the group. Even though we're not playing great footy at the moment, to make the finals six years in a row with the competition the way it is with the salary cap and the draft, it's enormously challenging.

"Is it the end? We'll probably see in the next couple of weeks and moving into next year."
