Brett Meredith will be one of the new faces in action when the Sydney Swans begin their pre-season campaign, taking on Hawthorn at Launceston’s Aurora Stadium on Sunday February 17.

Meredith, drafted last year from the Northern Knights, says the players have helped him settle in at the Swans.

“My time at the Club has been good so far and everyone has been really welcoming,” the 19-year old said.

“Because the boys have been so welcoming it’s been easier moving here and settling in.

“They have made me feel apart of the group as well as tried to help me with my game.

“I have learnt a lot since I have been here.”

Meredith shifted in with Jarred Moore and Daniel O’Keefe within days of being drafted; he says ‘they have been great to live with’. He is also being mentored by 2006 Brownlow Medallist Adam Goodes and Jarrad McVeigh.

Coach Paul Roos is looking forward to seeing the midfielder play against Hawthorn in the pre-season opener.

“Brett is only a young kid so we don’t expect him to play senior football this year but the Hawthorn game is a great opportunity for him to test himself against quality opposition,” Roos said.

Sydney Swans supporters have the chance to meet Meredith and all the other new faces at the Club when they will be introduced on Thursday evening at CLUB SWANS.  Click here to register now.
