After trading Angus Monfries to Port Adelaide, Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro confirmed a bunch of clubs had flagged their interest in the contracted big man.
"There are a number of clubs that have shown interest in Scotty, but at this point he's a required player," Dodoro said.

Gumbleton's manager, Paul Connors, told Gillette Trade Radio on Monday his client faces a difficult decision.
"It's fair to say that Scott's sitting back, he's in Perth at the moment with his family, and just looking at his options," Connors said, before hinting Gumbleton may be set to leave Victoria.
"It's a really difficult decision because he's got so many friends in Melbourne.
"He's extremely comfortable here. It'll be a footy decision, rather than the Kurt Tippett go home factor."
Dodoro also stressed ruckman David Hille was a "required player", with the club waiting to hear back from Hille's management about its current offer.
The Bombers traded Monfries to Port Adelaide in exchange for pick No.48 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.
Dodoro said the deal to send Monfries to Alberton went down very smoothly.
"Port were terrific. They made their intentions fairly clear, fairly early on in the piece. There was no point in mucking around we just got it done," Dodoro said.

Dodoro also indicated West Coast youngster Koby Stevens, who has signalled his intentions to come home to Melbourne, was one of many players the Bombers were having a serious look at.
But another Eagle who wants to return to Victoria, versatile defender Mitch Brown, was not on the Bombers' radar, Dodoro said.
